Monezine Free WordPress theme
There’s so many lists of free WordPress themes out there, you’ll just drown in it! The reason I’m making one is that I just don’t seem to agree with any of those lists and just see a cool and useful one here and there, spread across 15 different sites.
As mentioned in my brief 6-step blogging tutorial, using a proper layout and overall theme for your blog is of utmost importance for people to enjoy coming back or even reading your articles.
So here’s a list of 10 very awesome, yet very useful free WordPress themes. Initially I’ll post 10, but as a find more I’ll just add them below. Ofcourse you can submit your favourite theme as well and perhaps I’ll add that one too (with a link to the one submitting it ofcourse).
1. Vigilance Theme, by Jestro

You’re currently looking at this theme now! After all the dozens of themes I tried so far, this one just keeps coming
back as being the clearest and coolest theme out there for me. It offers great oversight for visitors and it’s real easy to customize through an added menu in the WordPress Dashboard so you can easily change colours and some basic layout options.

2. Spotty, SkinPress.com

I think this free theme has some magic to it as well. It’s a bit brighter than Vigilance Theme and certainly more colourful.
It’s a good thing to add some solid colours to your blog to add kind of a cozy feel to it. This way it’s fun for your readers to come back and spend some time on your blog, reading articles and maybe it will even be more of an invitation to engage in conversation through comments.
3. Comfy, DeluxeThemes.com

This is an amazingly professional looking theme that has the quality of a paid Premium theme. If you´re using this one, you would need some serious content though, otherwise it will look a bit dodgy with just a few of those subject blocks here and there. Included in the .zip download package are the plugins that make this theme work and ofcourse the theme itself.
You can also check out the rest of the free high-quality themes on DeluxeThemes.com, but this one just stands out for me.
4. MassivePress, by Press75.com
MassivePress by Press75.com
Weeew this one is quite awesome as well! It’s very slick and with a very overseeable layout and few colours you’ll get instant credibility from each landing visitor.
It’s a very useful theme if you’re running a news-related blog with good pictures in your articles. Just have a look yourself, ofcourse you can tweak the use of colours and logo’s to your own liking, but this white/dark setting is very cool already!
Press75.com, the creator of MassivePress, also offers very awesome Premium themes for around $75 each. Worth checking it out!
5. Epsilon Theme, Web2Feel.com

A very fine theme with some very bright colours and appealing front page. Packed with some cool plugins, Epsilon is very easy to install, even while you can see all those nifty horizontal menu features and cool mouse-over effects. You don’t have to do anything to make those work!
Get ready to drewl all over it and have a go! It’s all so easy to install, there’s no need to leave this or either one!
6. ZinmaG REDUX, Web2Feel.com

Another terrific theme for your news-related blog.
It has a very professional feel to it so it’s really useful for the more serious types of blogs. Nothing for Actofrage.com I’d say… hehe.
So get your team of bloggers together and start a blog using ZinmaG: this theme is content hungry and the more, good articles you publish, the better it all looks!
7. Monezine, Web2Feel.com

WOW! This is another one from Web2Feel.com, apparently one of the greatest websites for listing high-quality free WordPress themes.
Great for running a news and media related blog, but because of the use of warm colours you can also use it for your own personal articles. Again: just make sure you post a lot, because this is another that definitly thrives on a lot of content. A very good theme to use with multiple bloggers!
8. Brown Bound, TopWPThemes.com
Brown Bound WordPress Theme
A sexy looking theme with a good choice of fonts and colours.
Brown Bound will look good on any blog that doesn’t contain too much content. It would work for Actofrage.com I guess, because all you have to make sure if is that you’re categories are a bit comprehensable so people can easily find your articles. It doesn’t come packed with all kinds of nifty plugins and such, but there’s no need: it’s tight!
Just go and have a look, I’m sure it will work for your personal blog like a charm!
9. Carrington, by Crowd Favorite

A bit like Brown Bound, mentioned above, but just a tad more sophisticated. It’s an open theme with loads of white and contrasted with some pretty dark grey fields.
Carrington 2.0 beta has been released earlier this month and there’s some added functionality like threaded comments and easy customizable colours through the WordPress Dashboard.
So yeah, it’s a very fresh theme by a guys dedicated to perfecting it.

Last, but certainly not least, here’s a very awesome news and media related WordPress Theme.
All those features you see are certainly not easy to install, but if you go through the step-by-step tutorial on Blog Oh Blog, I think you’ll do just fine!
Digital Statement is sort of an upgrade of the earlier Statement theme, which was very good already. But seeing this newer version uses all of the existing code and has tweaked it up to a very good looking layout, I thought I’d just post Digital Statement as a v2.0 of the original Statement.
