Clint Eastwood has done it again! His directing, his acting, his godliness, it just all adds up once again to a damn fine movie.

The story of a grumpy old man in Gran Torino is all kinds of funny, sad and exciting and nearly 1 hour and 20 minutes of learning new racist names for all sorts of cultures.

Clint – I may call him Clint – plays Walt Kowalski: just-widower, (purposely) lonely, a pain in the ass and filled with prejudice. Having just lost his out-going and friendly wife (not that you get to meet her), he becomes quite isolated and doesn’t want any help or attention from the outside.

One thing awesomely great about Walt, though, is his sharpness in conversations. Although this truely is a drama story, once in a while I could just roll over the floor laughing (yes, rofl). In fact, I think these scenes cut together alone would already be worthy of several Oscars!

Maybe that’s a bit too much, but that’s how I felt watching it.

So just when Walt just can´t get any more racist and talk down on his ´immigrant´ neighbours, he suddenly has a change of heart because of the teenage asian boy next door tries to steel his one remaining precious thing in life: his ‘72 Gran Torino.

Just a '72 Torino, not the actual movie version

Just a '72 Torino, not the actual movie version. This car practically screams Clint Eastwood

This really grand movie deserves to be entitled one of the best in the new millenium so far and I think I’ll have to go see it every once in a while. Not only because of the fact that I’m a huge Clint Eastwood fan, but also because this movie has it all. From scenes to cry over, to piss your pants laughing, to engaging action scenes, it offers a true rollercoaster ride in ways I think I’ve never seen in the drama genre!

What´s a Clint Eastwood movie without him holding a gun?

Jesus, Joseph and Mary. These Hmong broads are like badgers.
