In my previous post on Timacious’ What’s In The Box project, I said I would keep you updated on any progress. Well here it is!
Whatsinthebox.nl, the official website to the YouTube hit video What’s In The Box, has been updated today with four new mysterious pages.
I wonder if there’s anything to it that gives us more information on any release date of the full film or maybe even some extra content. If you do know, please share your findings in the comments below!
First thing you see on the entirely black background is the xbox 360 – kinda Red Ring Of Death, which also is a menu. Clicking on the 4 different sections of the circle leads you to the following pages:

Some kind of puzzle, clicking on the newspaper titles randomly gets you several different characters

Flashes of 'Live' news feeds in 2018, apparently after some event that got the entire city quarantined
So here’s where I’m stuck. I got the different characters in the puzzle page with the newspaper cutouts, but closest I got to a word was something filthy. No, I’m not going to type the word in here
Anyone got any luck entering the correct code? Is there a correct code? Are we all being misled in to believing this thing is huge?
Stay tuned as things develop around this subject!

looking cool, wonder what it’ll bring!
I’m compiling a wiki with all the things I’ve found. check it here:

looks good Whacko! I’ll keep an eye on that list!
Dudes, it links to Babel Industries, which has a Hanso foundation logo on it. Have you ever Watched Lost? Geez, call yourself geeks.
….also enter Hanso into the pasword box, you get the numbers from Lost.
w00t! it’s John Locke himself!
thanks for the input!
Just download and decompile the .swf file. From there you can look at the actionscript for the password. There are many words that give different and funny responses. My first idea was please because of the prompt (Thinking back to Jurassic Park). Anyways if you look at the code, the password that brings you to a new page is:
operation2347
Cheater!
That’s a smart way to figure it out though
So after looking at this it really looks to me like this is the beginning of the 7 hour war from HL2. Like a prequel to HL2. The singularity towers really looks like the prototype to the citadel its self and If you look at the Babel web page they talk about funding from “private benefactors” and I can only assume that is a reference to the aliens for HL. In any event it really looks cool. Would love to see more of this.
P,d,X,(e or a 3 can’t tell),s. These are the letters i found
Okay, so i found the letters… P,D,X,3(or an E in cursive) and I found the UEC site by typing in operation2347. What is that??? Is it all a publicity stunt for this thing? or is it just another clue in a bigger puzzle?
you know… all the characters I found on that newspaper snipplets page were P, O, E, P, S, 3, X. Funny thing this spells just the way you would pronounce it in English and it’s the Dutch word for exactly the same thing….
anyway, I guess it’s all a big promotional puzzle for Tim Smit’s next release or something. Or maybe even a full-length feature film!
that building in the news thing is the Georgia State Capitol (USA) building (the one with the gold dome). i live about 1 mile from it!!
hmm… what would that building have to do with anything? I guess he just used that footage from some kind of news-related item on tv or something.
Keep an eye on that building though, maybe you’ll see Gordon Freeman walking out of there (you know… the Half-Life 2 dude…)
The letters from the newspaper clippings spell “exposed.”
did you guys check out this url yet?
babel-research.eu
yeah, but it doesn’t seem it’s being updated much since the beginning.
I wonder if there’s ever going to come any more out of this project.
Hi everybody,
Look at the commercial for the company werkspot on you tube.
I am certain this movie is made by Tim. I don’t think it has anything to do with whats in the box but its nice to see.
Perhaps there is a clou in it fot the right word?
you’re right though!

Thought so. the guy is good! awesome stuff.
The "random" letters spell exposεd (note the last "e" is an epsilon). I tried entering that into the puzzle answer form and it give me the invalid password. However if you enter "whatsinthebox" you get a response that says "soon the world will find out"
I wonder if we´ll EVER find out! It´s been quite some time since his latest internet activity.
