Funny how the release of a mere internet browser get’s so much public attention on the internet. I haven’t post a Twitter Trend for a couple of days and thought this one worth the attention as well as all those Twitter users out there.
Mozilla Firefox 3.6, codename Namoroka
Quite recently I completely migrated from PC to my “new” MacBook Pro (second-hand beauty from eBay), using the latest release of OSX (Snow Leopard). Before I’ll course you through the installation and usage of this new version of one of the best free browsers of our time, I’ll just share some basic information about it first.
Mozilla’s Firefox is a free and open-source internet browser and has been in stand-alone development since the summer of 2003. I mention ‘stand-alone’, because originally it was part of the Mozilla Application Suite, which included browsing, e-mailing, an IRC communication platform and some other useful stuff. Before Mozilla Corporation actually continued and enhanced the development of their suite, it was all started by Netscape Communications Corporation, which was quite the name back then.
So eventually Mozilla figured it would be wise to splice the Mozilla Application Suite into separate applications. Here Firefox (browser) and Thunderbird (e-mail application like Microsoft Outlook) were born.
In 2006 it all went quite fast for the Firefox browser. After the release of Firefox 2, including an upgraded tabbed-browsing feature, this free internet browser became hot as hell, achieving an enormous growth of usage in the total browser-market from 0,69% in 2006 to about 24% today!
Firefox 3.6 new features
New features for Firefox 3.6 include built-in support for Personas (toolbar skins), notification of out-of-date plugins, full screen playback of Theora video, support for the WOFF open webfont format, more secure plugin system, and many performance improvements. -Wikipedia

I have used Google Chrome for a long time because it was so smooth, simple and awesome. But now that I installed Firefox I must say it's all even better! The easy navigational functionalities in Chrome still seem to be unbeaten, but Firefox is a WHOLE lot faster! For example the ease of scrolling through graphically intense websites is just perfect! I never noticed Chrome to be slow, but after trying out Firefox 3.6 I just couldn't get used to it anymore.
Firefox FTW!
And Google… if you can make Chrome scroll as smooth as Firefox 3.6, I'll rethink my opinion
